What we have done

What we are doing

  • BisonHub Implementation Leaders
  • The Office of Data Analytics has been working closely with all functional workstreams to ensure all operational reports are developed for the BisonHub implementation in Spring 2024. We are gathering requirements, developing, and testing all reports related to Workday Student to support this effort. 
  • Transforming data insights into actionable strategies that directly contribute to significant improvements in student outcomes and retention.
  • Census file creation and maintenance for compliance reporting -Each semester we freeze data on registered students to provide the official statistics for the university. 

 

What we plan to do

  • As we transition from Banner to Workday, an effort will be made to migrate essential data to a new data warehouse. This will allow us to integrate data from multiple sources such as Slate, StarRez, Workday, Banner, and a host of other applications. We will retain control of our own data and the data warehouse will serve as a new data source for integrated reporting.  
  • We are working with university partners to establish a data governance council. This group will ensure that data is handled, maintained, and utilized in a manner compliant with university standards and compliant with federal regulations. We will create and maintain data policies and standards and communicate those standards to the Howard University community. 
  • We will ensure that future strategies align with the latest technology advancements, including artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).  Delivering measurable value to the Howard University stakeholders is our top priority. 
  • We will exercise internal auditing and quality check measures, navigating the complexities of regulatory compliance, while pioneering innovations in business process automation and stakeholder engagement.
  • We will serve as visionary leaders with a track record of operational excellence, committed to steering Howard University towards data driven success and holistic growth.
