The Office of Data Analytics (ODA) at Howard University is a trusted source for data analysis, data science and reporting. What type of report data does ODA generate?
We pull data from various sources and integrate seamlessly into a single reporting solution. We regularly report on data both administrative and academic, but the bulk of our work is focused on data from student information systems.
Who does the Office of Data Analytics consist of?
- Data Science Arm – experienced data scientists that strengthen data and predictive modeling; build predictive models, build machine learning algorithms to enhance student outcomes that directly impact research and efforts consistent with the University’s strategic and Howard Forward plan.
- Business Intelligence Arm – utilize data to perform direct analysis and reporting. Data analysts work to clean data and transform it into more user-friendly formats. BI analysts are responsible for maintaining dashboards, generating reports, preparing data visualizations, providing training support and using data to forecast or guide business activity.
